A source close to the production unit says, "The makers decided that January end will be apt for the release. Some more work is still pending and they don't want to rush the post-production work. Hence, the release has been pushed to
a later date." Meanwhile, the audio and trailer of the film have been launched.
The political parties violently fight to outdo each other and lock horns over a wall, which becomes a key object to fuel their rivalry. Amidst this, Kaali (Karthi), a simple man, loves to lead a happy life. He is in love with a girl and it gives a twist to his life. The story traverses on dirty politics, romance and betrayal. Finally, ends up with revenge.

"Ellaa naatulaiyum vilaiyaadi thaan thothu povaan. Inga mattum thaan vaaippe kedaikaama thothu poraan." (In every country people lose only if they play. Only here people lose by not getting an opportunity. These words are touching lines in this movie.
Suseenthiran, through the words of Jeeva, says, "I know I will be in trouble for revealing the identity of the decision makers, but this is a story that need to be told "indeed".

Last week, Indiaglitz reported that; Shankar’s ‘Ai’ audio launch will take place around the second week of September, and the same has been confirmed by the producer, Aascar Ravichandran. The makers have arranged a press meet for Telugu media, and screened the teaser and a song.
Ravichandran has put an end to all the rumors about former U.S.A President Bill Clinton's participation by mentioning, we have invited Arnold for Tamil & Jackie Chan for Telugu version (Manogaradu). The audio launch function will be held on Sep 15th & 22nd respectively. He went on to confirm that the movie will be released for Diwali. ‘Ai’ will be featuring 4k projection, and the movie would likely to release in Hindi, Chinese, and English as well.
After the success of, 'Nanban' which is a remake of Aamir Khan's blockbuster '3 Idiots', Vijay has expressed his wish to be a part of typical Shankar brand magnum opus commercial movie multiple times in various TV interviews & Award ceremonies.
Shankar is currently busy with the post production works for 'Ai' and there were news that, he approached Rajini for 'Enthiran 2' but given the health condition of Superstar, the idea for Chitti's sequel has taken a back seat. Some went to claim that Ajith will be doing the sequel, but Shankar himself has denied the same on his page.
Meanwhile, Shankar has invited a very few from the industry for his birthday party & Vijay is one among them. This has sparked fresh rumors and few claim it is true that Shankar has picked Vijay for a stylish commercial entertainer. If these pair join hands together, it will be nothing lesser than a grand carnival.

Producer: P. Madhan
Music Director: Anirudh Ravichander
Cast: Sivakarthikeyan, Hansika Motwani, Vamsi Krishna, Sathish, Paravai Muniyamma., Soori, Anirudh Ravichander
Following five back-to-back hits, actor Sivakarthikeyan seems to have become the star of escapist cinema in Tamil filmdom.
Thanks to his stardom, several wannabe filmmakers are banking on him to make films that are usually targeted at the masses. This explains why he is not considered an 'actor' anymore but merely an 'entertainer', who would work in a film only with the sole purpose of entertaining his fans.

This pongal is going to be really big for the movie fans in TamilNadu as two of the biggest movies are to be releasing tomorrow.
two
movies that are to be released on January 10, 2014
Ajith’s Tamil movie “Veeram”, Vijay’s
Tamil film “Jilla”.
The massive release of two big
movies during Pongal festival period will be highlighted by the presence of
lead actors who enjoy massive popularity in not only India but also the world
over.
. The festival period can easily accommodate two
films, but how it will work for two big films is yet to be seen.
So far, the pre-release for both "Jilla"
and "Veeram" have been really positive. Both the films are releasing
in good number of screens. According to reports, "Jilla" is releasing
in over 1,000 screens worldwide and "Veeram" will be showed in more
than 900 screens.
Advance booking for both the films have received
fantastic response. According to entertainment industry tracker Sreedhar
Pillai, "Jilla" and "Veeram" tickets have been sold out for
the first weekend in most places. The Vijay and Ajith starrers are likely to
take bumper openings in their first weekend.
Both the actors command a huge fan following
worldwide. This is not the first time that the duo's films are releasing on the
same day. It has happened on a few occasions in the past, and the last time
their films clashed was in 2007. In the recent times, big Tamil actors have been
avoiding clashes between their films as they might eat into each other's
revenues and affect the collections.
After six years, Vijay and Ajith films are set to
clash at the box office. "Thala (Ajith)- Thalapathy (Vijay)" fans are
eagerly waiting to see the battle between the stars, but the films distributors
are wary about the clash. "There can only be one winner here. It will be
illogical to expect both movies to become blockbusters though the dices are loaded
in favour of both the flicks. The producers are taking a huge risk by releasing
the movies the same day," one of the leading distributors in Chennai told Bangalore
Mirror.
Vijay and Ajith, who are among the top league of
actors, will be expecting their respective films to perform well at the box
office. After a string of average films, Vijay bounced back with
"Thuppakki", one of 2012's blockbuster flicks. The actor's 2013-film
"Thalaivaa" was mired in a controversy and its release was delayed in
Tamil Nadu. This affected the film's business and it turned out to be an
average grosser.
Vijay will be expecting nothing short of a
blockbuster in "Jilla" to retain his position at the top in Tamil
film industry. On the other hand, Ajith will also want "Veeram" to do
well and continue his successful run at the box office. The actor has been on a
roll with films such as "Mankatha" and "Arrambam." If
"Veeram" turns out to be a hit, Ajith will once again strengthen his
status as the undisputable king of box office.
“Veeram”
Ajith, who is teaming up with
director Siva for the first time, is doing a rural film after a long time and
will appear in Dhoti with its trademark salt and pepper look. The movie will be
an action packed massive entertainer and the story revolves around Ajith and
his five brothers.
“Jilla”
Vijay’s
“Jilla” is also set in a rural backdrop and is an action entertainer, which is
creating a buzz not only in Tamil Nadu but also in Kerala for the reason
Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is paying crucial role in the movie.
Undoubtedly, "Jilla" and
"Veeram" will be taking extraordinary openings in their first
weekend. But, which film emerges on top is what trade experts and fans will be
eager to know.
'Dhoom 3' box office collections set to fly as advance bookings skyrocket, tickets 'costliest ever'.
Much is expected from Dhoom 3 box office collections as the Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif film's tickets are in demand - Yash Raj Films' action movie releases today.
With a lacklustre weekend, expectations are high regarding the release of the multistarrer, Dhoom 3. “The response for the film’s advance booking has been mind blowing,” says Shroff.
He further adds, “Dhoom 3’s tickets (after the price hike) have been the costliest as compared to the earlier mega releases of the year.”
'Dhoom 3' promos show a muscle-bound Aamir Khan performing death defying stunts while Katrina Kaif is his love interest.
'Dhoom 3' is expected to give Hrithik Roshan's Krrish 3 a run for its money as far as box office collections are concerned.
Jiiva's "Endrendrum Punnagai" ("Everlasting
Happiness") has received positive reviews from critics.
"Endrendrum
Punnagai" is a romantic comedy entertainer directed by Ahmed of
"Vaamanan" fame.
The film's plot: Gautam (Jiiva), Shri
(Vinay) and Baby (Santhanam) are childhood friends and run an advertising
agency. An incident in his childhood causes Gautham to have an
aversion towards women. All three inseparable friends vow never to get married
because Gautham does not believe in the concept of love. However, Gautham's
attitude brings a rift between him and his friends. What happens next forms the
crux of the story.
"Endrendrum
Punnagai" deals with father-son relationship, friendship and love. Trisha
and Andrea appear as female leads. The other cast members include Nassar,
T.M.Karthik, Abhinay and Varsha Ashwathi.
"The
film works to a large extent because of the inherent optimism in the plot and
the sheer good-naturedness of its characters. First and foremost
Jiiva-Santhanam-Vinay friendship and bonding looks real and there is perfect
on-screen vibe between the trio."
"The love track of Jiiva and Trisha their initial
reluctance followed by fleeting eye contacts slowly heats up, you can feel the
love temperature rising. The heroines Trisha and Andrea are not mere eye candy
their characters has been well etched. The father (Nassar)-son (Jiiva)
emotional mine field has been shown without any melodrama."
"It's evident that the film's main motive is to give you a
good time, but it's commendable that writer-director I Ahmed chose to weave a
message into the story. Watch it because it's the season to be jolly, and good
laughs are guaranteed."
"Endrendrum Punnagai is a predictable,
under-achieving RomCom with a very unlikable lead character."
Karthi, who started
his career with 5 of his best
movies (Paruthi Veeran, Ayirathil Oruvan, Paiyaaa, Naan Maahan Alla, Siruthai) had given 3 of his worst movies (Saguni, Alexpandian & Azhaguraja)
in last 2 years. He desperately needs an HIT
to survive in Tamil Cinema. On the other hand, Venkatprabhu’s last movie
‘Mankatha’ was a blockbuster. Out of his 4 movies, 3 movies were HIT. Audio
Launch of the movie happened on 21st August ’13. There are talks in the industry
mentioning that Studio Green felt that “Azhaguraja” movie will give much needed
hit to Karthi’s career, after “Alexpandian” (Box Office Disaster) and released
it before Biriyani. Biriyani release date was postponed and it was scheduled to
be released on Pongal. But, due to clash of two big giants in Tamil Cinema for
Pongal, Biriyani got preponed and was released today.
Venkatprabhu had tweeted mentioning that ‘Biriyani” movie will have a surprise element for Ajith fans and it has created some expectation for this movie among Ajith fans. Let us see whether Venkatprabhu gives the much needed Hit for Karthi in this Common Man Review.
Story: Karthi who eats Biriyani as Main Dish, while having
liquor as Side Dish gets into an issue after going behind Mandy Takhar
Karthi – Karthi acts as Womanizer and hence, the movie deserves to be certified as “U/A”. Initially, Venkatprabhu approached Ilaythalapathy Vijay to do this role and it didn’t happen. Karthi completely fits the role of Womanizer with his mischievous looks. He gets more opportunity to perform in the second half and have done a great job. Atlast, Venkatprabhu helps him to make a decent comeback with Biriyani.
Hansika – She come in the movie for 20 – 25 minutes including 2 songs and does the role of regular heroine in commercial movie.
Premji – Venkatprabhu can give an HIT by taking a movie, without Story, but not without his brother Premji. Premji occupies the screen from first scene and even comes during the romantic song between Karthi & Mandy. People who like his acting will love 70% of his scenes in this movie and people who doesn’t like his acting will hate the first 45 minutes.
Mandy Takhar – Punjabi based actress, makes her debut in Tamil Cinema. She gets introduced in the movie after 45 minutes and the story starts only from that scene.
Ramki , Jayaprakash, Sampath & Nithin Sathya have done good job as supporting actors. Uma Riyaz, after Mounaguru, gets a meaty role in this movie and has performed well. Nassar’s acting in Pre-Climax portion of the movie deserves special mention.
Yuvan Shankar Raja - Yuvan had always given wonderful songs & BGM to Venkatprabhu in all his movies and he continues to do so with good BGM in his 100th Movie too. “Ethirthu Nil” Song sung by Yuvan Shankar Raja, Vijay Anthony, Imman, G V Prakash and Thaman was too good. But, the other songs were very ordinary and the pictuization of the songs too doesn’t support it.
Cinematography by Sakthi Saravanan was good and his experimentation with the colour tones has worked to huge extent.
Editing by Praveen & Srikanth could have been better in the first half. Second half of the movie was too engaging. First half of the movie has 45 minutes of scenes, which doesn’t create any impact to the story. If few of those scenes were removed, it would have been more engaging
Ajith’s Mankatha Song “Vilayadu Mankatha” had been used as “FLASH MOB” Song during an important scene in the movie and it had been mentioned as “Ajith’s Birthday Celebration”. Venkatprabhu’s team guys have danced for that song. Even Viay’s Google Google Song intro, Powerstar’s Lathika Movie Poster and Sam Anderson scenes were there in the movie. Surprisingly, there were 2 unnecessary scenes, which tease Suriya’s height.
Director Venkat Prabhu created a new trend in Tamil Cinema by making debut through one of the best youngster’s movie – Chennai 600028. He gave one of the best movies in Ajith’s career with “Mankatha”. Mankatha was almost the first movie, which brought the concept of Teaser to Tamil Cinema.
People are teasing Venkatprabhu for giving more importance to Premji in his movie. Even Director Rajesh & few actors use Santhanam in all their movies. There is no issue in using Premji in his movies, but he is given more importance in this movie and few of his comedy dialogues looks forced and will not be liked by certain section of people.
First 45 Minutes of the movie was absolutely not connected to the movie and Venkatprabhu has used “Karthi” as womanizer to attract youngsters & Premji to have forced comedy scenes. Except those 45 movies, rest of the movie was quite engaging with good twist in the climax. If Karthi’s characterization was little better in the first half, then this Biriyani would have been much tastier.
Overall, Venkatprabhu serves Chicken Biriyani for his fans who liked “Saroja” Movie & Kuska for Common Man

Southern actress Trisha Krishnan, who has predominantly worked in Telugu and Tamil films, is making her Kannada movie debut. She will be seen in yet-untitled Kannada remake of Telugu blockbuster "Dookudu".
"We have zeroed in on Trisha for the leading lady's role. I have seen her work and since she hasn't worked in Kannada film industry so far, I was even more interested to cast her. She instantly agreed to be a part of the film when I approached her," the film's director Madesh told IANS.
Mahesh Babu-starrer "Dookudu" catapulted the image of Samantha Ruth
Prabhu, and Madesh hopes that the same happens for Trisha with the remake.
"I'm hoping that with this role, Trisha will find a strong foothold in Kannada industry as well. Our audiences are quite familiar with Trisha's work as most of her films from other languages have released here and have been appreciated," he said.

One of the biggest
movie events of the year was unveiled for the public’s viewing pleasure
today morning. Arrambam, directed by Vishnuvardhan, has a lot going for it and
has it satiated the appetite of countless Ajith fanatics?
Right from frame one, it is clear that Ashok Kumar (Ajith) is a man on a mission and one who is hell bent on exposing the people behind an ugly scam and bringing them to book. He has his comrades who will go to any lengths for him and help him in his operation.
Director Vishnuvardhan, writer duo Subha and editor Sreekar Prasad have to be commended for managing to keep the audiences hooked to their seats for a majority of the movie with very few drag moments. With a running time of more than two and a half hours, the screenplay is taut and crisp enough to keep the crowd arrested.
The large mass of Ajith fans have plenty of moments to scream and whistle in delight. Ajith’s screen presence is mighty as ever, and his classy salt and pepper looks and V neck T shirts suit his character’s mean streak. The star’s prowess at stunts and his knack of taking risks for the stunt scenes is all too well-known and when he dives out of a van onto an approaching car and zooms around in a Ducati, the entire crowd rises in unison to clap. Even some of Ajith’s subtle gestures, his gait and his typical shades delight his fans.
Arya is energetic and spunky as ever and has done his part well. Watch out for a little part where Arya will throw you off your seats with his appearance. His light-hearted comments at apt moments bring about a few chuckles. Taapsee is referred to as the ‘drama queen’ and she is sure to make a few hearts melt as the girly journalist. Nayanthara puts on a fiery face when required and also showcases her oomph and style in many scenes. This superstar continues to shine. Kishore as the honest cop is earnest as ever while Mahesh Manjrekar’s histrionics are a welcome introduction to Tamil audiences.
Rana’s portion in the
second half is a highlight and there is one arresting sequence featuring
him and Ajith, which is sure to grip the audiences. Great work on this segment
particularly.
Among the movie’s few slack moments include the ‘Stylish Thamizhachi’ number featuring Akshara Gowda. The ‘Adada Arrambame’ number, though a crowd pleaser and flamboyantly picturized, stands out a bit sorely at the start. ‘Melala Vedikkudhu’ takes the cake as the best song sequence and it’s a riot of colours and revelry as the actors dance merrily for Holi. ‘Hare Rama’ isn’t to be seen in the movie. Arya and Taapsee feature in 'En Fuse Pochu' and few nice effects embellish the song.
Yuvan’s work on the BGM doesn’t demand your attention as much as it did in Mankatha and Billa. But still, he has added enough muscle to the tension and action in the movie with his score. Om Prakash’s work on the camera befits the movie’s stature as a slick and glossy commercial action entertainer.
The stunt choreographers, Jegan, Kecha and Lee Whittaker, take the credit for the numerous action set pieces and it is slam bam all the way. The climax sequence and the boat chase are racy.
Being a commercial movie, you have to suspend disbelief and not look for too much logic and reasoning. There are a few sudden jumps in the movie’s flow and its better not to question them too much, and just enjoy the bond type commercial offering from Ajith.
Kudos to the Arrambam team for managing to live up to the Himalayan hype with an action flick which packs enough punch.
Verdict: Let’s make this simple ... Arrambam has
enough in it to be enjoyed this Diwali !
RATING: ( 3.25 / 5.0 )
RAJA RANI
Director: Atlee
Kumar
Cast: Arya, Jai, Nayantara, Nazriya Nazim, Santhanam
Sathyaraj
IMDB RATING: 7.7
RATING: ****
AR
Murugadoss’S third home production Raja Rani has been released to high
expectations, as his first two flilms won audience’s hearts.
Arya,
Nayantara, Jai and Nazriya Nazim appear in the key roles.
The
movie marks the debut of Atlee Kumar, a former associate of successful director
Shankar.
The
young director has taken his inspiration from Kannada blockbuster Milana, + which
starred Puneet Rajkumar and Parvathi Menon.
But
he has made necessary changes to make it to look like an original piece – for
which he should be patted on the back.
Raja
Rani is a beautiful, romantic love story. The movie revolves around the love
stories of couples who have got married against their wishes.
In
Milana, the love between the couple grows with time, but in the latest flick, it
flares all of a sudden as the movie starts nearing its climax.
Raja
Rani begins with the marriage of the lead stars.
They
wed against their will. There is no chemistry in the beginning and the couple
hate each other.
But
the story takes a twist when Regina has a stroke and she reveals her past love
story.
In
the second half, we are told Arya’s love story.
However,
how will the love blossom between John and Regina? What are their past stories?
What
impact will Jai and Nazim’s roles have on the story? Watch the movie to get the
answers.
From
the first moment, Raja Rani holds the attention.
Arya
and Nayantara’s arguments, their hate and their love keep one glued to the seat.
The
best thing Kumar has done is that he has tried to convey a good message to the
young generation. He attempts to tell us that there is life after a heartbreak.
Raja
Rani is packed with emotional moments, romantic scenes and comic sequences.
The
only drawback is that in trying to tell two love stories, the director doesn’t
give sufficient time to developing the main love story. No worries, as the
audience won’t complain.
Arya,
Nayantara, Jai and Nazriya Nazim all make a good impression.
None
overshadows the other and the director has to be appreciated for this.
Arya
is impressive as a lover boy.
His
chemistry with Nayantara works again. Nayantara completely justifies being cast
in the role.
Jai
and Nazriya Nazim have played their parts well.
Santhanam
steals the show whenever he appears on screen. He also has a few emotional
scenes.
Sathyaraj’s
character is well written – modern-day girls would love to have such a father.
On
the music front, GV Prakash Kumar has composed seven tracks for Raja Rani. A
Love for Life, Imaye Imaye, Angnyaade and Hey Baby have become hits.
Cinematographer
George C Williams is brilliant behind the camera.
Verdict:
Raja Rani is a must-watch for a family audience and young people.
AR
Murugadoss has a winner in hand.
Storyline
John
(Arya) and Regina (Nayanthara) are forced into wedlock against their wishes.
Both undergo a rough patch initially in their marriage as they are not able to
get over their past romances. Prior to their marriage, Regina was in love with
Surya (Jai), while John romanced Keerthana (Nazriya). What leads to the
Arya-Nayanthara wedding? How they forget their romantic past and finally come
together forms the rest of the story.
